First Run SwiftUI Flow

A complete SwiftUI onboarding flow, not just one screen. It's 14 intentional steps to permissions and sign in. You can reorder them, rewrite the copy, and open it in Xcode ready to ship.

From the Weather App template, on the screens its Xcode project ships, in Press, Sol and Prism, light and dark.

The whole journey at once. Choose a step to play it above.

Steps 4 to 14 are part of Pro. Pro opens every screen of every template, live in each style, and the SwiftUI to build them.

  1. 01
    Location

First run opens like the front page of an almanac, folio 01 of 06. Use my location sets Today on where you are; Not now leads to a city picker.

  2. 02
    Allow Location

iOS asks once, with Almanac's reason and a map of where you are. Allow While Using App sets Today there; Don't Allow takes the city path.

  3. 03
    Pick A City

With location off, choose the city Today reports on. Lisbon is ticked to start, and the button names the choice.

  4. 04
    Units

Every figure in Almanac follows these units, the widgets included. The specimen converts the same reading as you choose.

  5. 05
    Places To Follow

Porto and London come ticked. Tap a suggestion to follow it, or search for any other city.

  6. 06
    Follow Five

New York, Tokyo and Reykjavík join them. Each place gets its own page and a line in Places.

  7. 07
    Warnings

A specimen notice shows what a warning looks like, with the morning briefing on. Allow warnings, or Not now.

  8. 08
    Allow Notifications

iOS asks to send notifications. Allowing turns on severe weather warnings and the 7:00 briefing; either answer moves on.

  9. 09
    Sign In

An account backs up the places you follow and brings them to a new iPhone. Continue with Apple, or without an account to keep them on this one.

  10. 10
    Sign In With Apple

Apple's sheet shares a name and an email, or hides the email. Continue, and first run moves on to the paywall.

  11. 11
    Almanac Plus

Almanac Plus adds radar every five minutes, fifteen days instead of ten and unlimited places. Yearly is chosen, with a seven-day trial.

  12. 12
    Start The Trial

Start free trial runs the purchase through StoreKit, and the button holds a spinner until it returns.

  13. 13
    Unlocked

A ring draws and a check lands. First run records itself as done and the app takes over.

  14. 14
    The First Issue

Today reports on Lisbon under the masthead: the hour as a giant figure and the next 24 hours on the tape, over fifteen days with Plus.
